Particularly since the COVID-19 pandemic, I have made extensive use of telemental health technologies using video (preferred) and voice technologies. This is a relatively new development in psychiatry, but one that most patients have found helpful. Advantages included reduced travel time and expense, increased convenience, and reduced infectious risks. Disadvantages include technological limitations and potential disruptions and lack of face-to-face connection.
I offer intakes and follow-up sessions via telemental health. If you are interested in this, I will assess these potential benefits and risks in collaboration with you as your treatment progresses.
Telepsychiatry does not require specialized hardware. All you need for a telepsychiatry appointment is a device with a camera and microphone (which can be a laptop, a tablet, or a smartphone) and a stable internet connection.
Once you establish care with me, I will email you a link to a HIPAA secure video conferencing session
I am licensed to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts only, so you will need to be physically located in MA during your session. I am not able to offer appointments when you are physically present in a different state.
